We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Finance Manager to lead the finance and accounts function at Kanji (Mumbai). The role will be responsible for driving financial governance, business finance, accounting operations, compliance, reporting, and strategic decision-making support across the organization.
The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in accounting, controllership, financial planning & analysis, audits, forex business finance, and team leadership, preferably within fintech or financial services environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Leadership & Strategy
- Lead and oversee the entire finance and account’s function, ensuring strong financial governance, accuracy, and operational efficiency.
- Partner with leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to provide strategic financial insights and support business growth initiatives.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and profitability improvement initiatives, aligning financial outcomes with business strategy.
Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Own end-to-end accounting operations, including month-end and year-end closure processes, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement preparation.
- Ensure timely MIS closure, management reporting, and accuracy of financial data across entities and business verticals.
- Monitor and strengthen internal financial controls, accounting policies, and compliance frameworks.
Business Finance & Commercial Analysis
- Manage and analyze business P&L, revenue, margins, operating costs, and profitability drivers across multiple business segments.
- Deliver Monthly, Quarterly, and YTD Business Reviews with segment-wise EBIT analysis, KPIs, trend analysis, and actionable insights for senior leadership.
- Conduct detailed profitability and margin analysis across products and business verticals to support pricing, commercial decisions, and margin optimization initiatives.
- Lead variance analysis and identify opportunities for cost optimization and operational efficiencies.
Audit, Compliance & Risk Management
- Lead statutory audits, internal audits, due diligence activities, and compliance reporting while coordinating with auditors and regulatory stakeholders.
- Conduct risk-based reviews of key business processes, identify control gaps, and implement corrective actions to mitigate operational and financial risks.
- Ensure adherence to accounting standards, financial regulations, tax requirements, and corporate governance practices.
Process Improvement & Automation
- Continuously assess and optimize finance and accounting processes to improve efficiency, scalability, and accuracy.
- Drive automation initiatives and system improvements across finance operations and reporting processes.
- Work closely with technology and business teams to implement finance transformation initiatives.
Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with business, operations, product, HR, and leadership teams on strategic initiatives, incentive programs, and financial decision-making.
- Review commercial agreements and validate financial outcomes, incentives, and partnership-related transactions.
Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounts team, fostering a high-performance and collaborative culture.
- Build strong processes, accountability, and capability within the finance organization.
Qualifications & Experience
- Chartered Accountant (CA) + Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 7–10 years of progressive experience in finance, controllership, accounting, audit, or business finance roles, preferably in fintech, forex, banking, or financial services. AD2 Product Company experience will be preferred.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial controls, audit processes, MIS reporting, and regulatory compliance.
- Proven experience in financial planning, forecasting, profitability analysis, and business partnering.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience in ERP systems, accounting tools, and finance automation initiatives.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to manage cross-functional relationships and lead teams effectively.
